Legal requirement
Singapore's WSH (Construction) Regulations 2007 require the occupier to keep passageways, stairs and platforms free of debris and trip hazards, to stop debris building up, and to give overhead protection where objects could fall. Temporary electrical installations need residual current circuit breakers. High-risk construction work, such as crane lifts, piling and demolition, needs a permit-to-work posted at the work area.
