Legal requirement
Singapore's WSH (General Provisions) Regulations require all reasonably practicable steps to keep heat and ignition sources away from flammable materials, and suitable, accessible means of fighting fire. Means of escape must stay clear. Storage of petroleum and flammable materials is regulated by SCDF, and a storage licence may be needed depending on the quantity.
