Legal requirement
On Singapore worksites, the WSH (Construction) Regulations 2007 require the employer or principal to provide and maintain the right eye, fall, foot, hand, head, hearing and respiratory protection. Employees must use the PPE provided and must not tamper with or misuse it. The WSH Council's PPE guidelines add that fall protection gear needs a documented competent-person inspection at least every 12 months.
