04People and PPE

Legal requirement

The Workplace Safety and Health (Asbestos) Regulations 2014 require a survey report before building works on buildings completed before 1991, and only an MOM-approved asbestos-removal contractor may remove asbestos. The contractor notifies MOM at least 7 days ahead, works to a written plan by a competent person, and uses trained workers with fit-tested respirators.
