Legal requirement
In Singapore factories, hazardous work at height, where a person could fall more than 3 m, needs a permit-to-work. The supervisor applies, a WAH safety assessor evaluates, and an authorised manager approves (MOM factsheet on the WSH (Work at Heights) (Amendment) Regulations 2014). No one may enter or work in a confined space without a valid entry permit (WSH Council technical advisory on confined spaces).
