Say this
- Nobody starts work here without the site induction. If you see someone working who has not been inducted, tell me.
- Sign in when you arrive and sign out when you leave. In an emergency, that list tells us who is missing.
- Check the permit before high-risk work. If there is no permit, there is no job.
- Know what the crew next to you is doing. Hot work, lifting and work overhead can reach you.
- Only the contractor's own supervisor directs how their crew does the work. Raise problems through them or through me.
- If something looks unsafe, stop and say so. That goes for our staff and for every contractor.
- Report every incident and near miss, whoever was involved. We investigate them the same way.
Ask the crew
- Which other crews are working near you today, and what are they doing?
- What do you do if a new worker turns up who has not been inducted?
- Which jobs on this site need a permit before they start?
- Who do you go to if a contractor's work puts you at risk?
Show them
- The sign-in book or gate system and the assembly point.
- Where permits are displayed at the work location.
- Today's work areas for each contractor on the site plan.
