Say this
- We follow the sequence in the plan. Nobody changes it or finds a faster way. If the plan looks wrong, stop and tell me.
- Walls come down from the top, in small pieces. Never hack the bottom of a wall to drop it.
- The collapse zone is marked. Only the people doing the work go inside, and only when I say so.
- Nobody hacks alone. Someone always watches the structure and can shout a warning.
- If a slab or wall is going to lose its support, the props go in first.
- Rubble stays off weak floors. Clear it down the chute and keep the chute doors shut.
- If you hear cracking or see a wall lean or a slab sag, get out and warn everyone. Then tell me.
Ask the crew
- Which floor and which area does today's permit cover?
- Where is the collapse zone, and who is allowed in it?
- Why do we never hack the base of a wall?
- What do you do if you find pipes, cables or board that might be asbestos?
Show them
- Walk the collapse zone boundary and the safe route around it.
- Point out the props under slabs and walls that have lost their support.
- Show the chute, the debris enclosure and the access route out of the building.
